Tropical Storm Gordon Recap

Tropical Storm Gordon formed from a tropical wave that showed signs of organization on September 11. It developed into Tropical Depression Seven on that same day and then strengthened into a tropical storm on September 13. However, persistent wind shear prevented Gordon from significantly strengthening, and it weakened back to a tropical depression on September 15 before eventually degenerating into a trough of low pressure on September 17.

Although the NHC continued to monitor Gordon for potential redevelopment until September 21, strong wind shear prevented any new convection from forming near the center of circulation. The system moved over the open central Atlantic as it degenerated. Overall, Tropical Storm Gordon did not reach its full potential due to unfavorable environmental conditions, but it served as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of tropical weather systems.
